“We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.”
― Pascal Mercier, Night Train to Lisbon

The work of Mel Kirkham examines the traceries of a constantly changing home life, with the flux and flow of people, who visit through an ever revolving door. A series of photographs and paintings that explore the remnants and echoes of the people who have shared this space, making it home. From left over meals to the dust, fluff, fibres and hair, embodying the past and present, reflecting the constant, rolling change of an inhabited place.
