All that is left when you are gone.

These new pieces stem from the the loss of natural habitats with one in six species at risk of extinction in Wales. The works are about interconnectedness with nature, physically, mentally and spiritually. Humans have capitalised their habitat. Processes such as aggressive agricultural practices, building, pollution of rivers and other acts of land violence, causing a state of solastalgia.

The sculptural works are made in ceramic, plaster and straw. The are a reminder of how we are on the brink of losing many species and all that remains are pictures, sculptures and stories of their passed existence. The shadows create an interplay with the artifact, light and death.

The images produced with photographer Terry Hayes, examine our fluidity within the world. How we are passing through, being touched and shaped by our environment. The images are about balance, peace, place and understanding the connectedness that can be missing in many lives.
